I have been pondering this "barefoot stuff" for the last couple of years. I own and have watched just about every DVD on bare hoof trimming out there. Titles by Pete Ramey ("Natural Hoof Care"), K.C. La Pierre ("Equine Podiatry), Gene Ovnicek ("Natural Balance Hoofcare & Natural Balance Shoeing ") & Jaime Jackson ("Natural Hoof Care").

I have read and studied the following books and recommend them to anyone interested in learning a lot more about the subject of natural hoof care ("care of the bare hoof"). Opinions vary as due principals but they are all on common ground when it comes to the health of the horse or mules foot.

I have not studied, nor do I know that much about Martha Olivo or Dr. Hildrid Strasser methods of barefoot trimming.

One thing we must all understand, is how developing proper structure and providing appropriate diet & environment, promotes a healthy foot and a healthy equine friend.
